Cradle Ultra-Trail (CUT25) runners will start their race just after sunrise at 06H30. Runners can warm up their legs after an initial gradual downhill before heading up along Panorama View and onto the second climb of the day, Kudu Drive. 25KM runners then split from the Ultra route and make their way down through Malapa Valley, past the River Horse Lodge, down through Gladice Vale valley to Dassie Rock. At this point, runners will face one of their steepest climbs of the day as they reach their furthest point of the route and head back to the start, via Oribi Hill Road and around Aloe Cave. Lime kilns were used in Aloe Cave during the JHB Gold Rush in the 1900’s. Past the movie set used for Shaka and then onto the final climb with views over JHB in the distance before a fast descent to the finish line.
